Final Ip Man Wing Chun Instructor program

What is the Instructor program? Basically it's a complete set of 50+ videos no longer than 6 minutes to watch and learn what to teach your students exactly as I teach mine here.

The whole course is available to you the second you sign up, you can watch the videos on your PC, if you have a mac, ipad or iphone or any device that can view youtube you can watch the course that way too.

After signing up and qualifying as an instructor you become part of an elite privileged circle who will not only be at the top of their game as martial artists but who may choose to go on to teach others, spreading the knowledge of Wing Chun Kung Fu and of course reaping any subscription fees or rewards that you generate via gathering your own set of students and school. This certification is legitimately recognised and respected globally from Hong Kong to Halifax and incorporates weapon disciplines such as with the staff and Butterfly knives, not only will you become proficient as a practitioner and Sifu (teacher) with open hand styles but also with these traditional weapons to add to your growing arsenal.

This course is the successful condensation and focusing of several generations of tuition that has been tried, modified and proven to work both inside the arena and also on the streets as self-defence or as part of a career requiring control and restraint techniques such as the emergency services and armed forces. Because I personally monitor and regular the flow of this Kung Fu only a few places are available and as soon as the course is fully subscribed it will no longer be an option until the next generation of martial artists promote and develop their own in years or decades to come.

Ip Man and the 4 bong sau's in Chum Kiu in the 8mm footage

I am going to open up the biggest can of worms the wing chun world has seen in a long time and people can cut me down whatever, everyone is entitled to there version, perspective and opinion, i am not here to say anyone is doing it right or wrong  it was purely an observation, this article is just something I’ve been pondering on for a while and I thought it would be nice to share it.

In the clip below you see Ip Man perform four bong sau’s but everyone I know of in the world including me only does three, the story is you only practice things three times as that was laid down by the ancestors so you knew what was important in the system.

Now this can’t be a mistake on behalf of Ip Man even if he was two weeks from death he knew what he was doing, he did the film so that it would not be forgotten; if it was an error he would not have done four one way and four the other way, he would have done four one way… released and then did three the other way, as you can see in the clip below he clearly knows his own intention, that says to me its not a mistake... conspiracy? lol just joking.

He does not do it on the outward journey but if you look at the return journey during the initial lop and kick and bong sau, his head is forward.

He then looks towards the camera and continues to do three bongs sau’s

Now that says to me that the lop sau to kick to bong sau is one concept/technique and performed accordingly maybe against multiple attackers, pulling the first across you as shield then kicking one attacking from the side, which as you have turned  now is the front and  finally using the bong sau to dissipate an attack from right fist coming from what now is the left of you.

The Technique/concept

and then the three bong sau's

Please do feel free to comment on what i have published, i just thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to share it with everyone.

Regards

Sifu Mark Beardsell

Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Portugal Trip 2013

Aikido - Martial arts

When I was 7 years of age are learned a few moves from my Dad who was teaching and training Aikido, way back in the 70's nobody around the country really new what Aikido was, which was good for me because as it meant I never lost any of my street fights... Sneaky ugh! back then all people had heard of was kung fu, karate and Judo and also wrestling was popular so knowing Aikido gave me an edge.

TODAY! I still have the edge because I now train a martial art that a lot of people around  the world have not heard of, or let alone practice or know how to defend against, yes I've been sneaky again! this martial art is called Wing Chun, do a Google search on it... you will be surprised at how effective it truly is... I have one of the best teachers in the world... and guess what I can walk around without fear because I still have the upper hand on all those unsuspecting souls who want to pick a fight.. food for thoughts... I am now 49 that's 42 years of martial arts... who are you going to take note of :-)

About Mark Beardsell and his Wing Chun

Mark was born in Dover, Kent in early 1964 at Buckland Hospital, Mark was born with only a left hand and a stump on his right, where the hand and the ulna bone were missing leaving only his radius which floats between the two sockets of his elbow at which point his right arm becomes standard again, he was also born with his right leg being shorter than his left and has a small digit on his right foot where his big toe should be thus making balance difficult on his right leg.

Mark considers himself a normal person and does not see his own disability but is aware that other do, mark in his own words quoted "I did not realize until I went junior school that I was different to anyone else until the other children pointed it out"

Mark grew up in Thornaby on Tees and spent some time training Aikido at Thornaby Pavilion with his father until the age of 15 when Mark then relocated to Folkestone in Kent for the next 8 years, during which time Mark trained Judo and Karate for some time.
For a number of years Mark did not bother a great deal with martial arts as other life priorities took over and then he hit the age of 40 and found Wing Chun and was drawn to it like a moth to the flame, in Marks own words "I was inspired like so many by what Bruce Lee had trained but I had had no idea that it was Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do" that I was looking at, I just knew on seeing it, that this is what I needed to train".

Mark searched everywhere locally for a school that taught this art and could not find one, as a last choice he tried to learn it by himself and soon learned that this was not the way to go, he looked online for a course and finally signed up with the Arizona Wing Chun Association in the United States who were teaching Leung Ting Wing Tsun, but for the first year mark could only study the level one course notes for Siu Lim Tau as the founder of the school and Headman, Sifu Phil Bradley was converting the course from VHS to DVD and as soon as it was ready to go Mark signed up and dove right in, for the next couple of years Mark would visit the USA at least twice a year to meet up with his teacher Phil Bradley and grade in person as Mark believes everything in life should be earned not just handed on a plate.

When Mark had reached student grade six of the Arizona wing chun grading system is felt the urge to learn the dummy form but under the current organisation that was not possible I the Wing Tsun system is progressive but being a bit of a rule breaker he went of and found the International Wing Chun Association and re-graded to Chum Kiu level equivalent to the AWCA but Sifu Sam Chan taught the wing chun dummy form at this level so he jumped in and gained the grades he needed through this organisation, up to present mark has completed all the level barring the knife form under this organisation.

While learning the dummy form mark took a trip to Portugal and trained with Grandmaster Samuel Kwok for seven days and after having a great training experience joined the organisation and went on to become an in-door student and Instructor with Grandmaster Samuel Kwok who currently remain Marks primary source of wing chun.

Among Mark's achievements are:-

Founder and Chief Instructor of Teesside Wing Chun Gung Fu Association www.twcga.com

Author of “Wing Chun - Siu Lim Tau for Solo Students” and ”Jeet Kune Do for Wing Chun Students” and Wing Chun - Closing he Gap with Chum Kiu"

Lifetime member of Ving Tsun Athletic Association, International Wing Chun Martial Art Association and World Ving Tsun Athletic Association.

Qualifications

Sifu/Instructor - Samuel Kwok Marital Arts Assoc.
Sifu/Instructor - World Ving Tsun Athletic Association

The first Mixed Martial Arts system

Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as the most popular martial arts at the moment WHY? They are both used in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) in competitions such as the UFC and cage fighting, and everyone thinks “it’s dead cool and that”, you will probably know that Muay Thai can also be used effectively on the street, however there are two more very useful systems that can be used on the street BUT not in the ring as the moves are far too dangerous to be used in competition, these being Krav Maga and my personal favourite Wing Chun.
While it may be good to tell everyone you are an MMA fighter etc. how about telling them you’re an MMA fighter who models is fighting system on Bruce Lee who is the founder of the first MMA and built is system around Wing Chun.
