The wing chun dummy form

I had an epiphany the other day, a big bright light bulb came on just above me head, which made me chuckle, when many of us refer to the dummy form, some say there are 8 sections splitting up section one to the left as one section then the same thing to the right as the second section then the other six sections making eight. Other will say seven sections BUT split section one up as section one side A and section one side B.

What occurred to me was that in every section of the dummy form there is a side A and a Side B so why in our minds did we feel the need to break section one in to two parts whether turning into 2 section of the form or defining it as side A and side B. maybe its our first stepping stone in the form and once we have learned that section it becomes embroiled in are brains.

Just thought I would share this as it never occurred to me before, it shows that regardless of your level there is always something new to learn.
